This project amended two federal USACE permits held by the Park Board of Trustees of the City of Galveston that authorize beach and dune restoration projects along the seawall and west of the seawall extending west to the San Luis Pass Inlet.

Laguna Point Feasibility Study and Alternative Analysis Project

Project Description

This project will aim to develop concepts to protect, stabilize and enhancing critical coastal habitat and upland park infrastructure. Living shorelines, consisting of low crested rock or concrete breakwaters, shoreline fill (harvested from a nearby source), and planting, will be evaluated along with other potential alternative solutions such as groins and pocket beaches to achieve these goals.
