Today, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D. announced the results of the 2024 Adopt-A-Beach Coastwide Fall Cleanup on Saturday, September 28, 2024. This year, 7,166 volunteers participated in the cleanup to help keep Texas beaches beautiful by removing 63,647 pounds of trash from the coast.

Today, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D. is pleased to announce the Texas General Land Office (GLO) Coastal Management Program (CMP) is purchasing mobility mats and beach wheelchairs in 2024 so that local governments can utilize these mobility aids to help make Texas beaches easier for all to enjoy.

Today, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D. submitted a second letter opposing the Biden-Harris Administration's third proposal for an offshore wind energy lease. The new proposal, spearheaded by the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), is to lease approximately 142,528 acres directly to Hecate Energy Gulf Wind LLC.This latest proposal follows the cancellation of the larger Gulf of Mexico Wind Auction 2 due to a lack of commercial interest.
