GLO AND USACE GRANT 30-DAY EXTENSION OF COASTAL TEXAS STUDY PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
The Texas General Land Office (GLO) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) have extended the public comment period for the Coastal Texas Study by an additional 30 days to allow public stakeholders and the local community more time to comment on the Draft Report. HUD approves GLO state action plans for 2018 and 2019 disaster funding allocations
Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved two state action plans detailing the distribution and eligible uses of more than $285 million in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds to assist in long-term recovery efforts following severe flooding in 2018 and 2019 in South Texas and the Lower Rio Grande Valley and Tropical Storm Imelda in Southeast Texas. UPCOMING VESSEL TURN-IN PROGRAM IN GALVESTON COUNTY
The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is partnering with Galveston County and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) to offer community members the opportunity to remove inoperable and derelict vessels through the “Vessel Turn-In Program.”Designed to provide owners with a voluntary method of disposal, interested boat owners are encouraged to participate if the vessel is less than 26 feet long, with longer boats being accepted on a case by case basis. The vessel may be delivered to the drop off point upon approved for disposal. Read More

The Texas General Land Office (GLO) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will be hosting a second round of public meetings on the Coastal Texas Study to update the community regarding study changes and to hear community feedback on the Draft Proposal.
