Carlo UngoMartinez joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1996 at the age of seventeen. He served in motor transport and as a recruiter. In 2004 he had a tour in Iraq with the 2 nd Battalion 24 th Marines in the motor transport and was a machine gunner. Mr. UngoMartinez left the Marine Corps and in 2007 joined the U.S. Army as a small unit tactics instructor, and in 2010 joined the special operations civil affairs. He served in Afghanistan and Central America and retired in 2018. Mr. UngoMartinez is now the Veterans career advisor with the Texas Veterans Commission.
