Wayne Terwilliger served as a Marine in WWII with Delta Company, 2nd Armored Amphibian Battalion and saw extensive combat at Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima. After the war he returned to college and later spent over 50 years in professional baseball as a player, manager, and coach.
