Bob Steinman, a native of Waco, joined the Navy Reserve in 1958 and retired in 1977. During that time he served in the submarine corps aboard the submarines USS Seadragon, USS Volador, and USS Swordfish. He was part of the 1962 blockade of Cuba during the missile crisis and later surfaced through the ice pack of the North Pole along with the USS Skate, the first time two submarines had done so together. Upon leaving the Navy Mr. Steinman worked for the Texas Comptroller and the Williamson Co sheriff's department. He now resides in Round Rock, TX.
