Manuel Peche served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946.
Manuel Peche, a native of San Antonio, Texas was drafted into the U.S. Navy in 1944. He witnessed the Japanese surrender from his ship the U.S.S. Sherburne in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945. Mr. Peche retired from Kelly Air Force Base after thirty-five years of civil service. He then spent twenty-five years as a file clerk at St. Mary's University Law Library.
