Kitty Meyers attended the U.S. Air Force Officer Training School in 1973 and served over twenty-three years, including five and a half years on active duty. She was stationed in New Hampshire, Arizona, and Germany as a Food Services Officer and Services Operations Officer. During Operation Desert Storm, she was called up and assigned to be a mortuary officer. Her last assignment was as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) to the Chief of Air Force Mortuary Affairs at Randolph AFB, Texas. Ms. Meyers also had a career in human resources, serving in hospitality and restaurant management, and retired in 2014. She continues serving Veterans and her community as President of the Alamo Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), Texas State Veterans Cemetery Committee member, and Texas Veterans Commission’s Veteran Services Advisory Committee member. Ms. Meyers retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and now resides in San Antonio, Texas.
