Jacqueline Macal, a native of Dallas, Texas, was the oldest of nine children and entered the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. She attended her basic training at New River, North Carolina, and then was assigned administrative duties at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in California. She now resides in Temple, Texas.
