Born in 1916 in rural Williamson Co, Texas, Carl Knight served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman and flame thrower operator in the Pacific theater of WWII.
Born in 1916 in rural Williamson Co, Texas, Carl Knight served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman and flame thrower operator in the Pacific theater of WWII. Wounded by fragmentation from a Japanese artillery shell at the Philippines, Knight was evacuated and received surgery before eventually rejoining his unit. After the war he was reunited with his wife and their new son whom he not yet met while being away in the war.
