Russell Hovelson served in the U.S. Army 1952 to 1953 and in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1974.
Russell Hovelson joined the U.S. Army in 1952. He was assigned to the 45th Infantry Division 279th Regiment and did a tour in Korea during the war. Mr. Hovelson then joined the U.S. Air Force in 1956 and retired in 1974. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service to our country. Mr. Hovelson now resides at the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in Floresville, Texas.
