Oral History: Gonzales, George

George Gonzales, a native of La Mesa, Texas, joined the U.S. Navy in 1969. He served as a hospital corpsman and had a tour in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Fleet Marine Force Combat Operation Insignia, and the Naval Achievement Medal. After serving in the military, Mr. Gonzales became an attorney. He resides at the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in Floresville, Texas.
