Oral History: Goad, Roy

Mr. Roy Goad of Temple, TX served in the US Army with the 143rd Infantry Battalion of the Texas National Guard. He served from 1936-1946 and was wounded while fighting in Italy during WWII. Mr. Goad left the Army with the rank of captain and was awarded a Silver Star, three Bronze Stars, and the Purple Heart. While fighting in Europe in WWII he took part in the battles of Salerno, Naples, Anzio, Rome, and Strassbourg.
