James Clepper served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946.
James Clepper joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served on the USS PCE (R) 859 during World War II. On Christmas Eve 1945, he met his wife Margaret DeWolfe Clepper who served with the WAVES as a dental assistant. They now reside at the Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home in McAllen, Texas.
