Summary

The improvements will include upgrading the existing parking area from a limestone base to asphalt and run water, sewer and electricity for future restrooms and showers and stabilize the existing dune. It is important to stabilize the existing dune with vegetation to prevent sand from rolling into the parking area and prevent storm surge to cut through the dune system. Once the upgrades are done to the parking area on the west side Cameron County Parks & Recreation will continue to solicit funds for improvements to parking area on east side.
