Mr. Morgan served as a sailor and bugler aboard the USS Indianapolis during WWII. His ship delivered the first atomic bomb from San Francisco to the base at Guam. After delivering the bomb the Indianapolis was sunk by a Japanese submarine and most of the crew perished. Mr. Morgan was one of the survivors that spent several days at sea enduring dehydration, sunburn, hunger, and shark attacks before he was rescued.
