Hilda Massey joined the U.S. Navy in July 1945. She served as a hospital apprentice at Millington Naval Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She was in New York on Victory of Japan VJ Day on August 14, 1945. She left the Navy in 1946 and now resides in Irving, Texas.
