Vencil Mares served as an Army medic with the 102nd Evac Hospital unit during WWII and saw action in Europe.
Upon returning to Texas Mr. Mares entered the barbeque business. He has won numerous awards and recognition for his food and still owns and operates his barbeque restaurant today in Taylor, TX.
