Sam Foster was drafted into the U.S. Army in April 1944. He served in the Anti-Tank Company 8 th Infantry. He saw action in Normandy and Luxembourg, fighting in the Battle of the Hedges and Battle of the Bulge. After leaving the Army in 1946 after the war ended, Mr. Foster became a police officer. Later in life, he moved to Floresville, Texas, and was a resident of the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home until his passing two weeks after telling his story in February 2024.
