Jason Doran served in the Marines from October 1983 until November 2003 and retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. He was part of Task Force Tarawa during the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and was awarded a Silver Star for his heroism in combat. He later wrote the book
I Am My Brother's Keeper - Journal of a Gunny in Iraq.
