Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the 23rd Annual Adopt-A-Beach "Treasures of the Texas Coast" Children's Art Contest. The deadline to submit artwork is Friday, March 1st, 2019. Over 5000 volunteers work to keep Texas beaches clean
Today, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the results of the 2018 Fall Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup. “The can-do Texas spirit cannot be stopped,” said Commissioner George P. Bush. “Despite the first postponement in Adopt-A-Beach history and the potential threat of rain, 5,199 volunteers arrived at 22 beachfront locations to remove 76,576 pounds of trash from the Texas coastline. Adopt-A-Beach Fall Clean Up This Weekend
Today, Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the 2018 Texas General Land Office Adopt-A-Beach Fall Cleanup will be held this weekend, Saturday, October 6th. With an overwhelming number of RSVP responses, Texans have answered the call to clean up our coastline. Cmr. Bush Secures FEMA Funding for three Corpus Area Beach Restoration Projects
Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush released the following statement announcing the restoration of three Corpus Christi beaches affected by Hurricane Harvey. The restoration projects are funded largely by grants from FEMA. Corpus Christi North Beach, Sylvan Beach, and Rockport Beach will all be repaired. Vessel Turn-In Program making waves in Nueces County
The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is partnering with Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD), Corpus Christi Code Enforcement and Solid Waste Services to offer local coastal Texans the opportunity to remove inoperable and derelict vessels through the Vessel Turn-In Program (VTIP), free of charge. Designed to provide owners with a voluntary method of disposal, interested boat owners are encouraged to participate if the vessel is less than 26 feet long, with longer boats being accepted on a case by case basis. DALHR program announces important inspection deadline
Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Land Commissioner George P. Bush and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced the upcoming completion of activities under FEMA's Direct Assistance for Limited Home Repair program, also known as DALHR.
